St. Helens High senior Chelsea Collson, 17, was a huge part of the Lady Lions’ second district swim championship last weekend. She earned a state berth on two relay teams and in two individual events. Her parents are Ann and Kevin Collson. She has a brother, Andrew, 14, who swims with the SeaLions. He’ll be a freshman next year.

How long have you been swimming?

I’ve been swimming for 10 years. I was one of the SeaLions and then I quit when I started high school.

The girls won district last year, was this one better?

It felt better the second time. This is my senior year and it was a huge accomplishment.

How did the girls feel about winning?
