ADVERTISEMENTS
The Scappoose Lady Indians had second half scoring woes against both Banks and Tillamook in two home games last week.
Scappoose would fall to the Lady Braves, 46-30, on Tuesday, and Thursday, they dropped a 51-37 game to Tillamook after trailing by just one at the half.
Banks was up by just two points after one period against the Tribe, but they upped the margin to 23-15 by the break. Scappoose never got into double digits in a quarter, while Banks put the game away with another 23 points in the second half. Emily McDaniel led Scappoose with 11, while Abigail Hardie scored 14 for Banks.
The Lady Indians led Tillamook by one after the first quarter, and were just down by one, 23-22 at the half on Thursday.
The officiating got to Scappoose a bit in the second half. One particularly annoying official called two technical fouls on Scappoose–apparently after something was said.
Scappoose was nonplused during the game. They had trouble getting a call on their end, while Tillamook’s Cheyenne Hahn was awarded 17 free throws. She made 11 and was the game’s leading scorer with 17 points. Tillamook had a technical called against them in the first half, also when something was said.
In the end, Scappoose was outscored 28-15 in the second half. The Lady Indians went to the line just twice–both those shots came early in the third period.
The Lady Indians travelled to Seaside on Tuesday and host Yamhill-Carlton this Friday. They are at Astoria on Feb. 18.
