The St. Helens Lady Lions had hoped to give Liberty a battle on Thursday night, but ball control issues hurt the team and Liberty’s quickness was unstoppable in a 70-46 Northwest Oregon Conference loss.
The Lady Lions had stayed within single digit range in the first period, but by the half found themselves trailing by 11 points.
Liberty put the game on ice with an 11-3 run at the end of the third period.
Brooke Nolte again led St. Helens in scoring and was the only Lady Lion in double figures with 13.
The game was the last of the first half for St. Helens. They started the second half at Century on Tuesday. The girls host Wilsonville this Friday, Feb. 5 and Sherwood on Tuesday, Feb. 9.
