St. Helens senior Zach Sweeney has been a force at the post position for the Lions for two years. Sports Editor John Brewington asked him a few questions.

How long have you been playing basketball?

Since the fourth grade. This last season I worked at it all year. Before that I (also) played basketball and football.

What was your favorite game or moment (in basketball)?

When we scored 104 on Parkrose last year. Everything clicked after that…it was a defining moment.

What was your least favorite?

One practice our freshman year. We lost a game 25-50. Coach came in (to the locker room) and didn’t say anything but bring your running shoes tomorrow. Everyone but three kids puked. We only got the ball for about 20 minutes.

You seem to take charge this year at critical moments. Is that what you’ve worked for?
