The Scappoose Indians’ wrestling team didn’t have much trouble with Banks on Thursday night, posting a fairly easy 46-15 wrestling victory.
Even with three of their top wrestlers out with various infirmities, the Indians dominated on the mat, losing just two matches wrestled.
“We wrestled pretty well,” Scappoose Coach Jim Jones said. “We have some things to clean up. There are still some areas where our wrestling is still sloppy and needs to improve. There are three weeks or so left (before district) and we should be in better shape by then. It was a pretty good outing.”
Both teams forfeited in two weights, and Banks gave up six points in two other matches. The Indians had to forfeit at 103 pounds with the absence of Dakota Sue.
The Indians picked up their first win on the mat at 125 with a 7-3 decision by Chris Blank.
