RAINIER
City gets a new Web site after years without online presence
After several years with no online presence, www.cityofrainier.com, Rainier’s new comprehensive Web site went live on Feb. 19.
Rainier City Council member Judith Taylor spearheaded the 3-month-long effort on a $2,500 budget, saying, “People want to be able look through a window on the Internet to see Rainier,” she said.
The site, designed by Rainier resident Betty Weinberg of zapponet.com, has numerous pages with information on city government, community and emergency services, parks and recreation as well as Rainier-area related links, history, photos, contact information and downloadable city forms.
But that’s not where it ends, Taylor said. “There’s a lot more yet to come.”
