Earlier this week, students in the St. Helens High School ceramics program had already made 100 bowls for the charity event, Empty Bowls, and teacher Pat Brame said the students would make and glaze another 100 “without any trouble.”
Anthony Mabie said he gets a dual satisfaction from making them.
“People actually get to purchase the bowls I make and I make them happy,” he said.
Scappoose High, meanwhile, is shooting for 75 bowls. The students’ bowls along with a meal of soup and bread will be on sale for $10 on Friday, March 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at McBride Elementary in St Helens.
