After seven years, museum opens anew

There’s good news for people interested in the history of Columbia County. After seven long years, the Columbia County Museum and research library on the third floor of the old St. Helens courthouse is open again for business.
As momentum continues to build, the historical museum is continuing to accept donations of artifacts, photos for scanning and cash.
Since last summer, there had been a concerted effort on the part of the Colombia County Museum Association to sort through a jumble of artifacts. They returned those that belonged to the Historical Society of Columbia County and put many of those that belonged to the county on display.
The museum is open for four hours every Wednesday, from noon to 4 p.m.
